That is important so that children can grow up better. There are benefits you can gett if the parent are unemployed. But also families living on a low salary receive help. If you would like to get help, you have to submit a written request. That is known as &#8220;basic subsistence income&#8221; (Grundsicherung). You get the money for food, clothing, personal hygiene, household goods, electricity, and personal items. You are generally obliged to look for work and take a job if you get a reasonable offer.<\/p>\n<p>If you have worked at least 12 months in the last 2 years, you get the unemployment benefits number I (Arbeitslosengeld I). That&#8217;s more than unemployment benefits 2 (Arbeitslosengeld II). It is based on how much you previously earned from your work.<\/p>\n<p>You always submit your application at the Federal Employment Agency (Agentur f\u00fcr Arbeit).
